Artist's Statement

Hi, my name is Erik and I go to Pioneer High School and I am in the AP photography class. Originally, I started taking photos of things in nature, such as flowers. However, i realized, when we had our weekly critiques, everybody else’s pictures looked like mine! Now me, being the stubborn person I am, didn’t like thinking of going into photoshop and fixing my pictures. I said to myself that if i need to fix it in some way, then it wasn’t really an excellent picture. Then, I saw photos of an artist, Richard Misrach, who took photos of everyday things. This inspired me to take the photos i have now. A few of the pictures I uploaded to this website were from school, such as the domino picture.
